Shawnessy Smiles Dental accepts new dental patients without the need for a referral and we look forward to the privilege of being your South Calgary Dental Health provider. To ensure that your first visit at Shawnessy Smiles Dental is as pleasant and comfortable as possible, our team creates a welcoming environment from the moment you walk into our office and are greeted by our administrative team, to the time you enter our treatment rooms. We want you to feel as if you are part of our extended family.
Regular dental examinations are very important for every member of your family! New dental patients receive a thorough examination by Dr. Roman Koutsil, where he checks for the early signs of gum disease, eroded fillings, TMJ concerns, tooth decay, oral cancer screening, as well as problems with your occlusion (bite). He is also here to answer any questions you may have.
Please bring your insurance information, including information on your plan details. We will do our best to help you understand your coverage information including your annual and lifetime maximums and whether your plan allows for the assignment of benefits.
Your health and safety are important to us. We will collect a detailed health history from you in order to determine if there are any risks for treatment. In addition, please bring a list of medications you may be taking, including prescription and non-prescription medications to your visit.
If you have x-rays from a previous dentist, you can have them released to our office. We will ask you to sign a release form in order for us to obtain them under the Health Information Act of Alberta.
